Clarks X The Victoria and Albert Museum

Winter collection autumn winter 2016

The Clarks archive is unique and over the years our enduring sense of style has attracted numerous collaborators, among them some of the best known names in fashion, art and design, like London's Victoria and Albert Museum. Drawing on our respective archives, our AW16 collaboration takes its inspiration from the 1970s, an era when the Art Nouveau and Art Deco stylings of films like 'The Sting' and 'The Great Gatsby' were combined with a kaleidoscope of psychedelic colors to create a totally new look.

The collection

Silhouettes reference the fashionable loafers and t-bars of the 1970s. So too do colors and prints, including a design by English artist and designer, Claud Lovat Fraser. Originating in the 1920s, Lovat Fraser's print was re-issued in the ‘70s and has been selected by the V&A to feature in the linings of the Clarks V&A AW16 collection.
