How Do I Fit My Boy’s Shoes?
Nobody knows more than Clarks about the importance of properly fitting kids’ shoes. While we always recommend your child’s shoes are fitted by one of our trained experts, the following video demonstrations and step-by-step instructions will enable you to carry out a basic fit test at home.
Fitting shoes for boys
Check the Size
Help your child put the shoes on and check they are fastened effectively. Feel for the end of your child’s longest toe – getting them to wriggle their toes may help. Check for sufficient growing room. At Clarks, we recommend Pre-Walking styles from our First Shoes collection – for which we recommend 10 millimeters/1 centimeter of growing room.
Check the Width
In the Clarks kids boys collection, we carry medium, wide, and extra wide. ?Wide tends to fit the standard boys’ foot, and extra wide offers a ?good fit for a wider boys’ foot.
Double-Check the Measurements
You may be thinking, “But my child’s not a wide width!” Our width sizing reflects our long heritage of selling - and fitting - kids shoes. Over time, we’ve determined that boys’ feet generally fit wide, and we offer widths accordingly.
If you still have questions about the fit, take advantage of our two Expert Fit options:
