Have only had these a few days but have been wearing them constantly. Love the way these look and feel-- these boots have already made me a huge fan of Clarks.
Craftsmanship is top notch. However, one lace looks like it might be beginning to fray already -- annoying but very minor.
On to the fit and feel: these are the most comfortable shoes right out of the box that I've ever worn. They're just so comfortable. I recently returned from a short trip and I wore these basically the whole time. Very impressed.
As far as fit goes, they might run slightly large. My guess is that it was done intentionally to allow for heavier socks in cold weather. My reasoning is that I tried another pair of Clarks on (they were more of a shoe style) and the fit was exactly how you'd expect. So I suggest ordering your normal size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lowell2 Frustrating Shoe!
Comfortable to have on, looks great, good materials, But very soft for walking in, feels like no arch support, there is no sense of a heel while walking. I would say this is more of a moccasin than shoe.

These shoes feel as if I'm walking on clouds. The most comfortable shoes I have ever owned!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bobio Comparing Trapell Mid with Desert Trek
Okay. I'm sitting here comparing my Trapell Mid with my Desert Trek. And I confess. I've been a little compulsive about buying Clarks shoes lately. I bought the Desert Treks because I wore a pair in high school in the late 60s and, today, they were all I'd hoped they'd be. Then I saw the Trapell Mid, which was designed like the Desert Trek with the seam in the middle, but it was more of a boot, which I've been gravitating toward. The sole on the Desert Trek is crepe and is sort of "beefy." The sole on the Trapell Mid isn't as substantial and, frankly, they sort of look like "pixie shoes." You know, like Peter Pan might wear. But I'm old and masculinity issues have long since passed my radar. These shoes are comfortable and, like all Clarks boots, I buy them a half size smaller. I wear the Trapell Mids with jeans and someone would really have to be checking out my shoes to see they seem pixie-like. But they are comfortable, that's for sure. I'd say if you own a pair of Desert Treks, don't buy these Trapell Mids because the Treks are a better looking shoe. And, if you don't have any Treks, buy them instead. But if you're drawn to the Trapell Mids, they are comfortable out of the box and appear well-made.
