Rated 5 out of 5 by SnowBallFight Excellent style and quality for price
I bought these boots 6 months ago and wore them throughout the New England winter in snow, sleet, and rain. Don't be fooled by the dressy appearance, these boots can be worn in bad conditions. After months of wearing I had scuffs and signs of wear, however a little black and brown polish made them look like the day I bought them! However you do have to use two different polishes, but it is not difficult at all. I bought size 10.5 and usually wear size 11 shoes, and the fit is perfect. I can wear these at work while being on my feet for several hours. Just buy them and let the compliments begin.

by RandomJohn Great boot with one flaw
These are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever had the pleasure of wearing.
Construction is excellent, sole has a ton of grip, and the components, (laces, eyes, etc.) are all top notch.
There is only one flaw to these boots, and that is the color. It isn't dyed. It's more of a emulsion that is painted on, and shockingly, it appears to be water soluble! On my boots, it has already begun to wash off within the first three weeks of wear.
The leather is a nice brown all by itself I suppose, but it was the stained/dyed look that attracted me to the boots, and I suspect at this rate, that look will be gone long before the boots are.

I got these to wear to work, but could also be worn casually and they fit the bill very well. Most comfortable pair of wingtips I've ever owned. They are initially stiff, but with some work and time they get better. What won't change is the tabs at the back that will hang the back of your pant leg whenever you sit or bend over. You'll have to detach your pant let all the time. The hooks at the top are also quite narrow, so they have a tendency to release the shoelaces unless they are laced fairly tightly, which you won't want to do because there is no elastic at the top. But these are the only issues and not enough to keep me from recommending them, but these can be an irritant over time.

I wanted a nice pair of man-about-town boots with a little more style. I came across these and loved the leatherwork and coloring. I tried on an old pair of my roommate's Clark ankle boots and guessed on the size and nailed it. A little stiff out of the box, but to be expected. I've only worn them a couple of times, once on a night out and once for a day of retail work. Both times I was surprised at how comfortable they were over an extended period. No rubbing or sore spots on my feet, decent factory support over my whole foot. Obviously there's some stress over the line where the boot bends with your foot as you walk, but I imagine the cracking won't be too bad as long as it's kept up with regular polishing. I got a lot of compliments from guys and ladies alike when I had them on.

This is a gray pair of boots, not black. You can only wear them once a week as it will probably take you a year to break them in.

It's a great boot. Very comfortable and also good looking. I bought it for the times it snows or even just rains, and I was not disappointing. Very warm boot, and it worked great on snow.
I went with the size I use for all Clarks shoes, and it fits perfectly.

Beautiful shoe. After two weeks they are finally starting to break in and feel flexible on my foot.
The comfort level is probably average to good. I've had previous pairs of Clarks that felt a little softer underfoot, but these are by no means hard underneath one's feet. I would prefer a tad bit more cushioning in the foot bed, however.
Clarks seem to run about a half-size small, and these did as well. Surprisingly, they also feel a bit narrow. It's not enough to make me want to send them back, however.
Overall, I'd say this is a pretty good shoe. They look GREAT, have a very good sole on them that is grippy and quiet, and the uppers are breaking in and feel good. Were they only a tad wider and a bit softer in the sole, I'd rate these VERY highly. Otherwise, I'll call them pretty good.

I'm normally size 13...purchased a Brown & Black size 13. They are just the right size. These boots are the perfect blend of dress up/or down. They run a smidgen long, wide, & roomy, which I am thankful for, but are essentially True to Size, Very Well Built, and SUPERBLY COMFORTABLE!!!
I've very flat wide feet w/a narrow heel and have a hard time finding shoes/boots. Bostonian Espresso's, with their square toe box, have been the only shoe I can wear all day with any class/comfort. That's what led me to Clark's website looking boots in the first place.
For a boot, these Montacute's don't disappoint and are every bit as comfortable as the Espresso's.
Although the toe-box is round like most wingtip boots, they are deceptively roomy. The tread, though somewhat aggressive, sticks good to all terrain and is absorbing, sturdy, and sure-footed.
The black is charcoal in color. If you want more dress, add black polish. They shine up beautifully. Same w/Brown pair. Want to keep it casual...they are ready straight out of the box.
Bottom line, dress-up or down, jeans or slacks, You Simply Cannot Go Wrong With This Clarks Boot! Buy It!

These are great. They look great, feel great, and fit great. You will have people comment on them while standing in line, so be prepared for that. Well worth the money. I will probably pick up another pair in black in the near future.
While your feet will get warm in these, I wouldn't wear them out in the snow; unless you are walking across a parking lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by huss719 Shearling lined throughout
These boots are great, I was very happy to find them on sale and bought 2 pairs so that I have at least a decade of wear. I purchased the brown pair with the warm lining, it's shearling and it covers the entire inside of the shoe all the way to the toe. The leather is great and it's not listed as waterproof but I'd only hesitate to stand in water for a long time, puddles and muck should be no problem at all. I highly recommend these boots, get them in the warm lined while you still can...

Rated 4 out of 5 by adamguitarblackcoffee Great shoe, but I wouldn't give it a lordship....
I was pleasantly surprised by these shoes. I think a reviewer earlier stated that the charcoal color was more gray, and you can see on my pair there's definitely gray there, but having had them on my feet the majority of the past two days, it looks like the toe section got more black, and where they bend from walking, shows more gray-it's a neat effect, n' they look great. Clarks (on my feet) are roomy, and I love that. These are no exception, and I ordered my usual size. I had bought a pair of Clarks zip-up boots, and they were much too clunky, so I'm relieved that the Montacute Lord is roomy, but not unbearably so. Also, they're comfy, and I dig the plaid lining. Footbed is also comfortable (the zip-up things didn't impress me there, either). Overall, I'm pretty happy with these boots. The only bad thing I've found is that the left boot comes untied every 15 minutes if I'm in motion, and the right boot is sure to follow 5 minutes later. It's rather annoying, but you know the things a man needs to do to be handsome, so that's why four stars. Also-more colors would be great. These in burgundy? C'mon! Finally, I must say that I had a pair of Clarks cap-toe oxfords from the "unstructured" line, and they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. If these boots were to get the interior of the "unstructured" line, THEN you can call it Lord. Also, give me shoelaces that stay tied.
