I wear a 12M and have hip and knee problems, so must have comfortable, shock-absorbing shoes with good support. These shoes do that, PLUS it doesn't look like I'm wearing boats :-) I did remove the insert that came with them and put another one in, but I'm not sure that was necessary. It took about two days to break these shoes in to the point that it feels like I've worn them for years. I am going to Germany next month and these are the only shoes I'm taking. Great for walking, nice looking, and waterproof. What more do you need? Buying my second pair now.

I am a long-time sufferer of Plantar Fascitis. The Wave.Trek is the only shoe (and I have tried many!) that actually helps my problem. I can walk all day in this shoe with no pain! I leave the removable insert in for added comfort and have not had to use my prescription orthotic at all. I love these shoes so much I just purchased two more pairs. Clarks, please never discontinue this shoe!

Rated 1 out of 5 by CrimeDawg This shoe runs narrow
Sadly, I wasted $150 on this shoe. I have very "normal" feet. I can wear almost any shoe in my size without issue. When I first wore these shoes around the house, they felt okay, but when I wore them on my first long walk, they nearly crippled me. They put a lot of pressure on the first metatarsal bone, causing extreme pain. I was away from home, and I had to buy new shoes.

These shoes are so comfortable! I have plantar fasciitis and it's difficult to find shoes that are stylish and supportive. I love that they're waterproof, too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AzureBlue Sister's recommendation
I have three pairs of Wave.Trek shoes. I have had foot problems over the past five years and these and several other "tie shoes" also made by Clark's feel the best on my feet and allow me to enjoy my active lifestyle.
My sister is preparing to have knee replacement surgery in the next several months so I bought a pair for her recently.
She raved about the shoe's comfort and she also removed the footbed padding to insert her own orthotics.
The shoe is not bulky but provides shock absorbancy and that is always a plus. Love this shoe, sister too. Try it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by jooz After reading rave reviews was disappointed
I bought this walking shoe somewhat based on the rave reviews it received. I wore the shoe inside a few days before wearing outdoors and was not 100% sure they were for me. Today, I wore them on the treadmill for 1.5 miles and my feet were killing me and I had to go home. The shoe has a comfortable, snug fit and felt good on the feet--until I moved. There was ample padding on and around the heel but after that is where the shoe totally fails my feet. There is absolutely little padding in the toe box and for my feet the toes feel like they are in a pair of soft slippers one would wear only around the house & on carpeted floors. I kept Clarks' orthotic in the shoe and will try them again at the gym in a few days minus it and with my own rx orthic to see if there's any improvement. If not, then I wasted a bundle of money on what I consider an inferior product. Knowing Clark's reputation for footwear this has been more than just a small disappointment for me.

I bought these shoes for a bucket list trip to Alaska. I wore them almost every day of the 2 week trip! I only wore my sneakers a couple of times. They were comfortable from the first day I put them on and kept my feet warm and dry. I have always loved Clarks shoes since I was a young adult, buying them in England. I usually wear a EE width, but the D width fit me just fine with a light sock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SFSusan Amazing comfort and durability
I bought these at a Clarks retail store. My foot is narrow, but the medium width was actually narrow enough and was comfortable right out of the box. I bought these shoes for a 1-month trip to Africa, where I would be doing a lot of walking over uneven ground, in sand and dust. The shoes were perfect for the trip. Once I even had to wade through knee-high water, followed by walking through sand and dry dirt. The shoes were soaked and caked with sandy mud, but after a day drying in the hot sun and a good shaking out they were as good as new. I am amazed at how well they held up under such harsh conditions. I've been back for a month now and still wearing these shoes almost daily. They still look (and feel) great.

Clark's are my "go to" shoes! If you are looking for a well-made, comfortable walking shoe then the Wave Trek is for you. I have purchased Clark shoes for years and have always been happy with the style and quality.

Bought these sneakers because I have to stand on my feet for 5 hours at a time on hard cold concrete. I was so impressed with the comfort and fit. Since wearing them I have had no problems with sore feet or leg cramps that happened with a regular pair of sneakers. I've told friends about them and they bought them as well! Well worth the money!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tried I wanted to love the shoe, but....
The style is terrific. The support for me was not sufficient, so I would need to add my own orthotic if I kept them. But, with my insert or with the one that comes with it, I could not make it fit. I wear a size 10.5. It seems Clark's, like many shoe companies, thinks it is okay to stop half sizes at a size 10. That if you wear a 10.5 you can just take an 11. Well I am here to tell you Clark's, that doesn't work any more for a 10.5 than it would for a 6.5 going to a size 7. Please make 10.5. There is no way to make this shoe fit for me in a size 11. In addition, the heal was too wide for me. So if you don't need a size 10.5, and if you have a wide heal, this will probably be a terrific walking shoe. Although you may need more arch support.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Michelle8107 Need more sizes at upper end
I really liked this shoe. However, I returned it because, while the width was good, the women's 11W was too long and the shoe doesn't come in half sizes after 9-1/2. I could find no comparable style in men's sizes.
The shoe felt comfortable but without actually wearing it outside of home for any length of time I can't really provide an informed, comprehensive review. I had to give it an overall rating in order to submit my review. It's seems like a quality shoe that probably deserves better than average. I wish it came in my size.

I have neuropathy and wide feet. These shoes are very comfortable. I can stand and walk for long amounts of time, which is not the case with all shoes. Very cute, too...an element missing on many wide width shoes. Thanks Clarks

This is my third pair of Wave, Trek. I can use my orthotic in them with no problem. They are very sturdy and extremely comfortable. I highly recommend this shoe.
